Cooper Harris

Cooper Harris, our favorite Southern Belle, gave us some insight into her background.

How, or why, did you start getting into acting?
I grew up on the stage and started touring the Southeast with a theatre troupe when I was 12.  My mama is the artistic director of a theater in Chapel Hill so I’ve been embroiled in that world since I was little.  SO I felt comfortable around even the making costumes/teching lights/and helping with sets side of things.  Then of course, I studied at conservatory for acting, so it was official :)
How, or why, did you get involved with acting in a web series?
Well I got involved in acting in Squatters because … well I produced it.  But seriously, part of the whole intent behind the show was to showcase ourselves as actors.  And Julie is the strong female voice, and voice of reason throughout the series, so I was excited to do it!  I think she and the cleaning girl “Ramira” are a great contrast to the guy’s guys duo of Hank and Alex, and make the show truly dynamic, and more engaging than your typical “dude comedy.”

What 5 lessons were learned along the way while working on Squatters?

Since I was also producing, it was good practice switching gears on a dime, from producer to actor.  It was a good focusing exercise.  And silly as it sounds, I got to feel pleased – as an actor – that I, as a producer, wasn’t wasting my own time.  Haha, I guess that’s giving kudos to myself and Brendan for being really careful and conscientious in scheduling our cast’s time!  We staggered everyone’s call and had people in and out, usually in a few hours!
