I mean, ads are there for ad-revenue generation to the producers (and usually it's only pennies a day for most!). It's hard to mimic this unless webseries go "live" and a player has the function to "record" so that they can skip ads when viewing later, but if they're "live" (no fast-forwarding), then they have to watch ads just like on TV.
